Received from Hazel Leslie, Safer Communities Department, Lothian and Borders Police, 22nd May 2009:
QUOTE
“This is to inform you about increased police activity in the area of Calton Hill, Edinburgh in the evenings starting today, May 22nd, and lasting for about 1 week.

This is in relation to the search for Samantha Wright who has been missing since June 2008. Enquires have revealed that Samantha was known to go drinking on Calton Hill. Lothian and Borders Police search officers will be searching the area with the help of MOD (Ministry of Defence) Police and so there will be a fair amount of police activity in the area.

This is not a police operation aimed at those who frequent Calton Hill, but a search for a missing person.

Samantha is described as female, white, medium build,5’5”,long brown wavy hair, pale complexion, dark brown eyes. She often wears glasses, she has an English accent and would often wear black hooded tops or dark clothing.

If you could please pass this information further, that would be most helpful.”
